L.V.S.R. started as a 'wild idea' from the Campmaster Corps, but they were not the first to think of a Lost Valley radio station. Summer Camp staffs' had the idea to string wires around camp to speakers, similar to the television show M.A.S.H. After some discussions, a proposal was made to the Lost Valley Committee to start a radio station that would be available to the campers in Lost Valley and could be streamed over the internet. During the 2007 Memorial Day Family Camp, L.V.S.R. went live over the air/net. L.V.S.R. stands for Lost Valley Scout Radio, it also pays tribute to the camp's 'old' name, Lost Valley Scout Reservation, LVSR.
L.V.S.R. is a mix of music spanning the years that Lost Valley has been in operation (1964 to present) and keeping with the ‘Western’ feel some country music has been tossed into the mix. L.V.S.R. broadcasts from 6 A.M. to 11 P.M. with music, news, and weather for our campers, both in Lost Valley and on-line. We also have specially produced segments, like ‘A Minute to Fill with Phil Brigandi’ and the upcoming ‘The Lost Valley Tribune Report.’ During Family Camp and Summer camp you’ll also hear commercials and broadcasts featuring campers and staff. On Sunday night at 8 P.M. there is a tribute to ‘The Dr. Demento Show’ with some music that might bring a laugh and a smile.

L.V.S.R. is also responsible for ‘The Lost Valley Road CD,’ a self-guided tour of the scenic ten-mile dirt road into Lost Valley. This year, the audio files will be available on-line for download. It’s fun to listen to L.V.S.R. on your way to Lost Valley.
